    Transmission oil listing

    I am changing the manual transmission oil in my 91 318i. I haven't found and information does anyone know which oil I should use?

      75w90 synthetic. Brand is basically up to you and what you wanna spend. Everyone will recommend redline.

              Please do not listen to the recommendation for gear oil, your transmission uses ATF.

                  the tractor oil he is referring to, maybe what is also called TDH. Its a newer oil based for tractors more so in the cold northern climates.

                  it stands for transmission differential hydralic

                  it can be used in the hydralic system with no problems and is "thin enough" in the cold climates to be used in tractors diffs and trans that normally get 80w90 or 85w140.

                  might be worth a try, try mixing half TDH and half ATF
                  You make your own fluid called ATDHF!!
