    5 speed question

I am collecting the final peaces for my auto to manual swap and I was woundering if I could get any pictures of how the shifter fits to the transmission. I have seen the diagrams on realoem but do not get how it fits together because they break it down to much

That depends on whether you are using the sheet metal or aluminum shifter console.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The shifter itself goes through the center hole in the carrier from the top (not like fro below shown in this ETK pic above) and is retained by that white ball cup (#6). The ball cup clips into the carrier (#1), a tab on either side snaps into the slots in the carrier hole.

At the front of the carrier (left side in the pic), where there is the carrier bushing (#2), that part slips between the two upright tabs on the top of the transmission. The carrier is attached by the retaining pin/clip (#3).

          Hope that helps!

you can get #1 new but it's not really a wear item so used is fine.

if it's a different # assume it's ix specific and nothing else fits.
