    3.73's or 4.10's ? on a 89 vert?

    so i just picked up another vert but its an automatic and has 3.73's... i am in the process of swapping everything from a 5 speed vert that has 4.10's .. should i just stay with the 3.73's or should i change to 4.10's???

    If you drive on the highway a lot 3.73 is good. If you spend most of your time below highway speeds the 4.10 makes the car i little quicker.

      yea im always in rush hour traffic so ill be swapping the 4.10's too .. should i sale the 3.73's or keep them?

            4.10 will be better for traffic (quicker acceleration), 3.73 is better for higher speed mileage.

                I have a 4.27 but it's an m42 so it's really not comparable.
                The first car I ever rode in was an e30

                  4.10 all the way.
                  will be a world of difference, you WILL be able to spin tires through 3rd if you try.

                  my vert came with a 4.10 so im leaving it in when i throw my 5sp swap in, should make it fun.

                  trust, it will give you better feel of power.

                    actually its probably worse for traffic, more shifting, shorter gearing, more shifting

                              Not the LSD itself, the higher revs will be louder. For example, at 65mph with the 4.10 you may be at 3,200 vs 2,900 with a 3.73. I'd focus on the swap and leave the 3.73 alone until you drive around and decide if you prefer a little more zip and more shifting and noise or like it the way it is. Diffs can be a serious pain to swap.
