    Flywheel and Transmission Question

I have 02/86 325E parts car. Pulled the 2.7 E engine and transmission to take the 5 speed for a swap. Was surprised that the flywheel is a single mass-was expecting dual.

The tranny is Getrag 260.1270.90 with sensors and with late model shifter mounts on the back top (even though it had an early shifter). This would mean it's a late model E 260 tranny.

I want to swap it into an auto (10/88) 89 325iC. This E flywheel has enough meat on it to be resurfaced. I want to make sure that in this little E's previous life someone hasn't swapped in something weird.

I'm looking at a 21211223102 Sachs clutch kit hoping that it will all fit. The distance from the outer edge of the Bell Housing to the flange of the slave cylinder is 6-7/8ā€ which implies an early E transmission with a deep bell housing (maybe I’m not measuring in the right place because a late Getrag E should be 6-1/2ā€).

    My questions are:
    1. Are all Single Mass flywheels the same if they are on a 2.7 or 2.5 with at Getrag 260?
    2. If yes, will the 21211223102 Sachs clutch kit work?
    3. Could this possibly be a Getrag 260 late model with a deep housing?
    4. If it is a deep housing then would a 21511204525 30mm throw-out bearing correct the deep problem?

Most of my info has come from this post:

    Thanks

Heavy single and dual mass flywheels were used on ETA's. The ETA single mass is a lot heavier than the flywheel for an M20B25 engine. You really want the right flywheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Thanks
I'll get the right m20b25 flywheel.
What do think about the bell housing? Did they put a deep housing on a late model Getrag 260 on an ETA? How would I know for sure so I get the right throw-out bearing?

The bell housing on cars with the M20B27 and M20B25 engines are the same.

The single mass ETA flywheel is a LOT thicker than the "i" single mass flywheel.

if you had a LOT of machine time you could turn it down. it does have identical geometry otherwise and will bolt up
