Shift lever and selector rod Q's...

Ok well I have a 91 318is with the stock getrag 240 tranny(is this right?).My question is i have an e30 M3 selector rod which is shorter than my stock one, can I use ane e36 M3 lever. If I remember one shift lever needs to be bent but if I used as shorter selector rod combined with a bent lever would it be able to work?

Way to wait 9 minutes before bumping it asshole.

You are confused. The lever is longer, therefore shorter throws. That means you have to bend the selector rod (not the lever) so it doesn't hit the harmonic balancer. That is on a 325i at least, I am not sure if its the same on M42's.

no no bending required on the m42.
