How loud is your stripped out car

Just replaced my driveshaft with a rebuilt one, car is currently stripped of carpet and rear seats. The driveshaft still sounds like its making just as much noise as before it was replaced(noise gets worse the faster i go). I also replaced the differential with one with 24K on it so i dont think its that, and i also replaced the guibo too, so im out of idea's of why its making noise.

I'm basically wondering if anyone else's driveshaft in their car makes noise too.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the diff?

I think its coming from the driveshaft. diff sounds quiet to me. Also just replaced Sub frame, trailing arms, and diff bushings with AKG 75D bushings.

        What sound do you hear?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

not sure how to describe it really, i just know it sounds like its coming from the driveshaft. I'll see if i can get a video of me driving later after work, but i doubt anyone will be able to hear it over my damn exhaust.

Try to describe the sound. That will probably work better than a video.

It's like something is spinning but its not that happy that its spinning. And there is a noise that sounds like a a dry bearing spinning which I think is the csb. I have the stupid harmonic balancer over the guibo but the outer portion had broken off and there's just the inner portion left. Was going to take it off when I replaced the driveshaft but didn't have a lock washer for the bolt on the back of the trany

Get the car up on a lift and "drive" it at the speed that you notice the sound when on the road. You should then be able to localize the source of the noise. A bad CSB bearing, differential bearing or gear problem, bad transmission, or wheel bearing problem are all possibilities.

Is it all the time, even with the clutch pedal pressed?

Could be anything, really, like Jim said.

Are you in town for school break? We can throw it up on the lift if you are.

yeah im down from school right now. I'm at work right now though.

                    To Jim,

I dont think its the csb or diff bushing those are all brand new, and wheel bearings were replaced prob like 40k ago. I'll see if i can swing by Johns and put it on the lift for a min.

How late are you going to be at the shop John?

A good bearing is a silent bearing, your posts seem to contradict themselves.

Well the CSB is brand new from a driveshaft shop over in Texas. Unless they used an old one, which i doubt cause it looks brand new.

There are far more bearings between the output of the trans to the input of the differential than just the CSB. Noise travels and bounces off things and can make them sound like they are coming from some where else.

Thanks John for your help, turns out it was a bad wheel bearing already, even though i just replaced them a while ago.
