have play in driveshaft support bearing.... driveline of portland driveshaft

so i replaced my driveshaft with one from driveline of portland. i did it in june of last year. now i was having a loud squealing from support bearing area. went under car and grabbed driveshaft and shook it up and down and watched it move up and down in the support bearing. it had a good amount of play in it. is this normal? tthhhhaaaaaank you

If the driveshaft was reconditioned there is no way in hell you could wear it out in that amount of time. Something else must be wrong. Did you disassemble it before installation and time it improperly? Did you install it in the correct order? Did you tighten the gland nut after seating the shaft all the way forward in the trans and tightening the csb bolts? Good luck.

The CSB is captured in flexible rubber. Is the drive shaft moving in relation to the bearing (which is almost not visible) or is it moving in relation to the outer housing of the CSB unit (which is normal)?

whatever portland driveline used for a csb is junk. installed july of last year and its already failed. rubber around edge is completely missing.

This is why I like to use local businesses. Things are a lot less painful and if there is a problem, it can be sorted out right away. Now it is a question of was the CSB of poor quality or just an indicator of bad alignment or binding in the shaft?
