    clutch bleeding!!!

So i am having issues it seems bleeding my clutch. i have a great pedal feel after doing the pump the pedal 50 times, hold to the floor and open the bleeder. we are not getting any air out of it, but when i push the clutch down it is not fully dissengaged. i didn't bench bleed the slave because i didn't know u needed to. i let it gravity bleed for about an hour first. any body have any ideas?

    thanks,
    chris.

I'm not sure why people seem to have issues bleeding clutches.
Bench bleeding is not necessary, but probably would help. First make sure the line from the brake fluid reservoir has fluid above its level. Make sure the line is open and the fluid can get to the clutch master. You will get the air out and fluid eventually if you have fluid above that feed line. I usually do about 5 pumps then hold and then open the bleed screw, then close. Repeat and keep checking to make sure you have brake fluid going into he feed line from the reservoir.

The $40 pressure bleeder is worth every penny. Did you machine the flywheel? If so, did you mAchine a lip into it like it was stock? Bentley says .010 or so lip for the flywheel.

Yes, also make sure your clutch is setup properly, the clutch fork, throwout bearing, slave, etc.

what needs to be special about setting up the clutch? the flywheel wasn't machined by me and was used on another car. i never took the clutch fork out and the throwout bearing looks like it could go in either way as long as the bearing is facing out?

I've seen problems from bleeding like you described, best thing to do is go find a power bleeder and bleed it with that. My buddies zf was bled by hand dozens of times and with a hand pump bleeder multiple times and still wasn't fully disengaging the clutch, took it to a shop who after swapping the trans out found it just needed bled with a power bleeder

Possible something is blocking flow? Have to tried taking the bleeder out completely? Anything come out?

Also one of those little pump oil canteens, grab some rubber hose, attach one end to the canteen the other to the bleeder screw. Works great for a cheap/quick alternative to pressure bleeder.

I bled mine using a Harbor Freight oil squirt can and a plastic flexible tube the size of the nipple from Orchard Supply. Air always wants to travel up and pumping oil from the slave up to the reservoir is how I resolved my issue. Crack it open and slow pump, make sure no air from oil can travels and no more bubbles are seen traveling up.

i just bought a small oil pump from vatozone
it was like not even $10

                          looks exactly like this one

and pumped in from clutch bleed screw...worked pretty well. wasn't the best job but good enough I need to bleed my clutch one more time the regular way to make sure all the air is out.

if i knew about the harbor freight kit, i woulda bought that instead

im almost afraid it is not my bleeding. it is right there, that it is almost fully diengaging, its close enough that if i leave it in gear and push the clutch in and get on the brake that the clutch will slip and allow the engine to idle, but if i get off the brake it starts to move. and i have a great pedal feel!!! im gonna get a pressure bleader and give it a shot.

Did you swap to a non stock flywheel?
