    4hp22 into e39???

    This is a stupid question.

    1997 528i m52b28. blown trans. Will a 4hp22 from an e30 325i work?

    im thinking it wont but the g260 is run behind m5x alot. why would it not work?
    transmission control electronics?

    There really isnt any electronics linked to ecu in an e30 i believe

      True, but he isn't putting the transmission in an E30.I don't know if a 97 E39 has an electrically controlled transmission. If there's a cable connection to the transmission, that would be a clue.

        I think those used the A4S310R, really common and really cheap if you find a pick n pull.

        While the 4H22P would bolt up it would sit at a weird angle, and you'd need to custom fab the driveshaft, linkages, etc.

        Not worth it.
