    86 325E using a 91 325 CI Driveshaft

Is it possible? If so what is involved. I think my U joint on the E is bad and I would like to swap the whole unit if possible.

    Thanks,
    Ian

If both are 5 speed cars it will work.

You'll need to change your center support bearing though since early and late model are different.

Excellent! I read somewhere that the output shaft on the I Trans is different then the E will this affect the setup?

When I pull the driveshaft from the I car should I order a new CSB for an E car? I'm guessing re-using the old CSB would be a bad idea.

      Thanks for sharing your wisdom!

The 87 325e had the larger flange during some months of production but the majority of 325e cars use the small flange just like the 325i.

I'd recommend buying a new CSB and guibo if they're in bad shape. Go with Febi brand and not a cheapo.
