    Z3 diff speed sensor

Hi all, in a bit of a bind.

I am installing a 3.07 torsen diff in my 24v e30. The speed sensor currently in the z3 diff doesn't appear to work with the e30 plug and the e30 sensor doesn't seem to fit in the z3 diff.

Anyone have any insight to help me out?

    Cheers!

What diff cover are you running?

switch the plug over to the Z3 style. The E30 connectors usually break anyway. the sensor works the same - and it doesn't matter which way you connect the 2 wires.

              The e30 is a late model (1990).

So I can order a z3 plug, wire it up where the e30 plug is, and just keep the z3 sensor in the z3 cover? That seems like it should be a good way to do it.

Anyone have a part number for that plug?

Do you happen to know the part number for that plug? Talking to steve at blunttech now trying to figure it out.

Just use the speed sensor that's original to the diff and splice in the cable to your car.

I just went to the junkyard and clipped a mating connector (any e36 e32 e34 will do) and matched up the colors.

                        It works just fine. :)

I've got the same diff and Z3 cover. Mine plugged right in.

                          I miss the old BMW

The part number given is for a sensor, not the plug.

Where I live there is no euro/BMW junkyard unfortunately.

                            Anyone help a brother out?

Bringing this thread back for a second. My speed sensor on the pigtail plastic side broke and I ordered a new plastic connector from BMW. However, the connector is for a Z3 and has a different profile than the factory one. Can I get a Z3 sensor and will it work in my factory diff, also will it read correctly?

                              Thanks
