    rear end swap4:10 to 3.73

my input (driveshaft) seal crapped out 2 nights ago, puked out the gear oil, and put the WWF smack down on my r&p. right now i have a 4.10 non lsd and i found a 3.73 lsd for a good price. here's my question i have is i am runnning 205/55-16's now and have been happy with the results i cruses at 80on the freeway in 5th gear nicely with the mods done to the eng.. since the other rear end is going to lower my crusing rpm, is it going to be way out of the power band for freeway or just downshift to 4th to pass?
    thanks,
    greg

I'm gonna say downshift to 4th to pass, but your top speed will be higher. ... out of curiousity, what kind of price did you get for the 3.73lsd??

You should still be ok, the difference isn't any more than 500RPM or so. I downshift to pass with a 4.10 LSD anyways.

installed the rear end. not a big difference , although it doesn't seem to pull as hard down low, the longer gears are nice though. according to the vacume/mpg gauge (however accurate that is) i gained an extra 5 mpg @ 80 on the freeway. i like the lsd too. he had a 4.10 lsd i think i am going to get off of him too, just to have around as an option (not like it is hard to switch!). he also has a 3.91??? non-lsd out of a 318 will this fit? is it hard to find one with a lsd?
