Ok so I got a 89 325i with the m20 2.5 engine 5 speed... anyone has a idea what kinda transmission fluid I use?

I like to use 75w 140 red line but eveyone has there own stuff they like to use

what colour label is on your tranny case?
If you can't find it/it's not there anymore, just use redline MTL (70W80 GL-4 i think it is).

Green Label: MT-90 (75W90 GL-4)
Red Label: D4 ATF

Yea It no label.. I got the car and found out my transmissiion is leaking... I have low trans fluid.. idk what the PO put in so idk what to do.. should I go to the dealer... or just get a seal and put in what u said?Originally posted by Sea Aych View Post
