    Who has solid mounts

I just installed Condor solid transmission mounts and im gettint a bit of an "unbalanced" feeling. I was expecting the whine/buzz vibrations but this is more of a wabble that builds with RPM. The wobble makes it sounds almost like a subaru.

    is this normal?

Sounds like it's highlighting a previously unknown issue in your driveline....

Guibo, center bearing, u-joints, and even motor mounts.

wait..... the SOUND coming out the exhaust is different?

no sorry, there is no sound change in the exhaust.. just a "wub wub wub wub" wobble/vibration to the car.

the Guibo is brand new, how can i diagnose other potential problems?

I have Condor engine and transmission mounts.

U-joint, grab either side of the u-joint, wiggle and check for play.

Center Bearing, look at the rubber and see if it's torn.

Also, with the installation of the guibo, did you make sure the flanges were aligned? It should go over this in the repair manual your using. Also be aware there are some cheap guibos and center bearings out there that are made with poor rubber that fails quickly. Stick with Febi or OEM right now.

I had a brand new guibo, Condor motor and trans mounts, and had the same sound. It only lasted for a few weeks and then it just turned into a regular vibration sound.
Maybe I just got used to it and dont pay attention to it anymore.

weird i just went out and drove it again... it even does it when I'm stopped and revving.. so its not the drive line or anything its just the engine revving.

im surprised because i installed only the motors mounts and it didnt do it, but it does it now with the motor+trans mounts.

It feels like a muscle car haha

Check your harmonic balancer pulley. If you have a dual mass flywheel, it's bad.

Something is loose or broken. Check the motor mounts from the block down. Same with trans.

I bought both the engine and trans mounts from condor. I installed the trans mounts and had the same vibration your describing. I drove it for 1/4 mile and pulled them back out. I didn't even install the engine mounts after that. I'm not looking to add any vibration to my drive.

what do you mean "motor mounts from the block down"? Im not sure how to test a harmonic balancer, and dont know what I should be looking for from the block/tranny down?

Well. The trans mounts are the greatest source of added nvh of all drive train mounts. (Engine, trans, diff).

If it's just a thing with these solid mounts then cool. Just understand that the symptoms you described are also symptoms of the prelisted parts failing.

Im noticing now that it's doing it when I rev the motor at a stand still. It has to be something engine related or that's just how these mounts feel. I have never ridden in another e30 with them, so its hard to tell. I with it was just a tighter feeling than the wobble vibration.

Ill take it out to my mechanic and have him drive it also (he drives spec e30 so im guessing he has experience with solid mounts in these)
