    Tranny swap

I'm not gonna start a whole new thread cause there are plenty of how to's on multiple forums. My main question is the swap procedure the same on a sedan as it is on a coupe cause I have a 1990 325i sedan

I hate to break it to you but this is a thread and you've started it. ;)

There is no difference in sedan vs. coupe. Your car is an airbag car though so instead of swapping the complete pedal assembly you can just swap the pedals themselves.

I meant I wasn't gonna start a hot to thread because is already so many and I would assume that the drive shaft would be a different length in the sedan than the coupe and every where I've looked didn't ask wether or not it was a coupe

Doesn't matter if the parts came from a coupe or sedan. The only thing that matters is the pedals as Mr 325 said.

              Cars are the same size.

K that was my only question so it's just a manual drive shaft and it doesn't matter If it's coupe ore sedan I found a place that sells rebuilt trannies for 550 http://www.catuned.com/p/59/catuned-...0#.UyDuotyDTeI

Just find somebody parting a 5 speed car and buy the complete swap. Not worth that money for a rebuilt trans, getrag 260's are bulletproof so even a used one will keep going forever.

I agree with buying a complete swap. Maybe even buy a complete 5spd car, that way you'll have all the parts including braces, exhaust, etc..

I will have to disagree with the G260s being bullet proof though.

It's a pick and pull, and everything is dirt cheap. I think their is a manual diamond schwarz 4 door at the Richmond site. Seemed like it just needed shifter rebuild. I did a 5 speed swap about 3 months ago so if you have any questions (Which i know i did, wish someone told me not to spend 3 hours pulling out the airbag pedal box) PM me and i can try to help! I'm also local if you need some hands on.

                          Good luck!
