So this is the third or fourth time I've removed/installed one of my various differentials. This time around, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm having a very hard time getting the four top bolts lined up. Please share your tricks. BTW this one has been in before.

I typically start one loosely and use a locating tool to center the others. Sometimes they go right in , others give you a bit of trouble. Good luck -

Seriously, though, they just do that sometimes - even when we have them on the trans jack and the car on a lift. Start them very loose and this will give some wiggle room to get the other started. Don't tighten any until they are all in by 3-4 threads. also helps if the mount bolt is NOT in as this will cause the diff to rotate at weird angles.Comment

Finally got it in. It's a breeze once I move on to the half shaft and drive shaft. I really do need to make studs. The plan was to just make alignment pins, but I ended up being rushed. Thanks!i'lldoitforacaravanComment
