    92 325iC e30 swapping getrag 260 from 87 528e

I bough a low priced getrag 260 from a 87 528e. Going with the theory, 260 = 260. I notice the sensors up front and the flange size in the back. Pushed the wires out of the way and got the flange swapped. Installed in car, but it seems to be riding High, I can't get the driveshaft connected or the rear trans mount connected.

Any idea if these two trans are swappable? What did I miss? First time trans with this car and it's on Jack's outside in the cold. I could very well have missed something or fouled it up. Any help appreciated.
    It's going into a 1992 325i convertible, so still an e30.

I had a 528e transmission in my 325ic for a short time. Swapped the flange and everything went in just like the old one that came out. Did you remove the under car shielding and undo the driveshaft support bearing to hook the shaft back up?

Yes. I followed the pelican website tech articles. My exhaust is out, shielding 100%.

My original trans went out, so I swapped it with this one. I swapped the rear flange while they were both out. When I try to mount the rear mounts to the cross member it seems Like it is stretching one side. Like it is angled.
The shift linkage also is cockeyed. The very end of the linkage where it connects to the body is too high.

Transmission is exactly the same as the 325e transmission. It WILL fit.

The Eta cars had the bellhousing sensors but obviously you don't need those. Shifter linkage mounts in the same location as an E30. If your transmission seems sideways check the condition of your engine mounts.

Thanks for the reassurance on the exact fit portion. I will look at those. I was thinking maybe something got between the motor and firewall possibly. I will check both after work today.

It was me! inexperience and rushing...

I overlooked that the cross member is not symmetrical, and I had lined up the linkage guide into wrong hole. Once I pulled my head out, it all lined up, bolted on and seems to be working well.
            Thanks for all the replies.
