5 spd swap in airbag car/brake pedal switch

    Hi all,

I am working on a 5 speed swap in a 91 airbag e30. Currently the pedal assembly has bolted on and swapped without concern. The pedals have come from a non-airbag car.

Everything seems to have lined up/boted up so far.

The only concern i have is the rear brake light switch is not engaged by the brake pedal when it is a rest. Has anyone else had this issue? Do the Airbag 5spd cars use a different brake pedel? Or do they use a different switch?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    thanks!

installed and adjusted it properly? I've only ever known the pedal to press on the switch when its at rest. When you put your foot on the brake it springs out and the lights come on.
Just a little project im working on

Yes, that is my understanding of how the switch works as well, but the pedal is resting just shy of engaging the switch, so the light would always stay on. The pedal is from an airbag auto car, and the clutch pedal is from a non-airbag car. The mechanism from what i understand is plug and play, but this switch it not making sense

The switch comes fully extended and self-adjusts upon installation. The plunger can be pulled back out to it's as-shipped position and it will self-adjust.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Ohhh ok, cool, i will try pulling the plunger out. I think i do remember these shipping with the plunger a little more extended than how it is now.

I will give this a try, thanks!!! :-D
