really weird shifter problem, help? :(

    Its probably this. One of my e30's came that way. 15 minutes later and it was perfect.

        You can check that from inside the car, just pull shift boot off.

          i did look at it, but i cant quite tell. it kinda looks like he put the wrong linkage and the shifter backwards :/ il try 2 post pics in a minute

                  Wtf...so instead of fixing the issue he damaged the center console, leaving you with more of a mess to clean up.

                  That sucks man. Even with the shift carrier being wrong, just rotating the actual lever around (which is backwards btw) would have made it a lot better.

                                RealOEM lists two different part numbers for G240 and G260 shift consoles. Not sure what the difference is though. I would just start by getting a new shift console, new selector rod and all new bushings. Start from scratch and make it right.
