Half shaft questions (1990 vs 1985)

I just picked up another e30 (1985 325e 5spd) and the left half shaft is bad, I started looking on pelican and bav, almost $600! My 1990 has a bad right half shaft and it is $350. I would have thought abs would have been more expensive than a non-abs car? Anyone know where I can get a decent rebuilt one or new one for cheaper on the 1985 car? I bought the car for $800 for a winter beater, sure as hell not going to put a $600 haft shaft in it...

I believe the fitment will not be an issue, the only difference is the toothed ring for the ABS sensor. I recently did a the rear arm swap with discs on my 84 318i and the donor was an 87 vert. I elected to use the 87 shafts on the 318 with no problems.

    Hope this helps,

    Ted

Correct, the only difference is ABS vs non ABS.

Check with CAtuned on rebuilt axles. You might like their pricing a bit more.
