    Shift Carrier

    Hi,

First post here. Quick background on the current project, I have a 1991 M40 Auto coupe which I've purchased for next to nothing which I'm planning to convert to an M20B25/G260. I have also picked up a 1990 5 speed 525i as the donor.

My question is: Which Shift Carrier will I need? I'm pretty sure it's the aluminium type not the flat steel plate type carrier. If anyone could clarify that would be very helpful.

i think you can probably use the metal plate type as early 84-84 325e's used a metal plate style. personally, i would get the sleek aluminum one or take the long g240 aluminum one(too bad you have an auto), cut it in half and get it rewelded to the right length.

Thanks, I didn't realise I had so many options, thought I'd have to use the G260 specific one. Are there any differences for coupe vs sedan?
