Rear Transmission cover

Can this be swapped out? We have a couple of transmissions- one has both mounting tabs busted off but the trans is working fine, the other is missing 4th gear, but the rear cover is whole. Can the covers be swapped?

yeah but you have to disassemble the transmission..

Totally disassemble? Or just remove the stuff off the rear of the trans?

Can the broken tabs be welded back on and still hold up to race conditions?
