used getrag 260 leak in bell housing below input shaft

I recently got a used g260 and its leaking from the plug area below the input shaft. Has anyone seen anything like this? Is this trans okay to use?

how bad does yours leak? Is it to a point where you drip everywhere you park? Is there another solution or is the trans in need of a rebuild to replace that cap?

Yup it drips every time I park. Not a lot but it drips. I'd just fill up every now and then

Mine is leaking from somewhere, i guess its from that same stupid seal too. All other 3 seals are new. What is the purpose of that seal anyways?

The countershaft goes in that sport from other side along with a roller bearing.

I just pulled by 240 and it has the same leak. I tried to clean it VERY well and loaded the area up with grey RTV. Fingers crossed...

Properly replacing the o-ring that makes that seal involves splitting the transmission open. You can see how it goes together on RealOEM.
