Old style "plate" shift carrier. Replace bushings

Transmission is from an '86 325e (Produced 09/'85).

Is it worth replacing shifter parts/bushings? Or should I be looking at swapping to a new-style carrier?

Here are the parts I was thinking of replacing.

In addition, I should really be replacing the two Supporting brackets, as the rubber bushings inside the ones I have are very sloppy. These are $20.64 EACH.

Just looking at prices on RealOEM, it looks cheaper to just get new parts for my plate-style carrier.

My Getrag 260 has provisions for both though. If I can get some parts used it might be worth the swap?

Is the newer style shift arm any better in shifting feel/performance?
