I know that BMW driveshafts are not meant to be rebuildable, but this question is directed towards those who have rebuilt their DS or have experience with U-joint replacement. I purchased new Meyle U-joints and plan to tack the caps in place after I set the cap to end clearance. I can easily measure the clearance on the stock joints that are installed currently and match it, but I am interested in knowing what the proper recommended clearance range is. Is there a standard clearance used for these joints or a published clearance range for the cap to joint clearance with this driveshaft (probably not, since they are not supposed to be rebuilt)?
