    no pressure on the clutch

so my moms E28 is having problems with the clutch, she gets no pressure pushing it down until about 3 inches from being able to shift. do I just need to bleed the system? or am I looking at new cylinders?

I did post this in the E28 section but I don't know how much traffic that forum gets.

the car drives fine and has no problem shifting other than that theres no pressure pushing down the clutch.

Could be air in the system or a bad master cylinder, assuming no leaks at the slave or soft lines.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I should add that this could also be a problem with the clutch/pressure plate. But go for the hydraulics first.
