Question about trans output flange reinstall:

Just changed the input, output, and selector shaft seals on my zf 310z trans. I'm reassembling and was curious how far in the output flange is supposed to be pressed in? Do I drive it all the way back to the seal surface or do I leave a certain amount of space? I forgot to make a note of how far down the output shaft it was mounted when I disassembled. Thanks!

Pretty sure it should bottom out. Otherwise the nut wouldn't tighten.

Yes. The flange needs to bottom.
