how much power can it handle before going down? Im planning on around 290hp so am i going to have problems with the transfer case or will it be ok as long as im not launching the car at any high rpms....

the front diff is more likely to break, or you will strip out the front driveshaft..
but the transfercase itself is pretty stout.
you can have the front driveshaft lengthened by 2", this requires removal of the transfer case to do it.. but I've been through 4 front driveshafts now, I don't want to replace another one ever again. the stock driveshaft only engages 3/4" worth of splines (which are only 1mm x 1mm), even though the gear it mates with is almost 3" deep!
