    ix diff in an is

Has anyone used an ix diff in there i,e,or is if so, what where the results. I've got a 391 out of an ix and want to know if its worth the effort of the install. Thanks

i hear it's better than open, but will still act like a open unless you get on snow or so... you need to slip quite alot for it to lock up compared to the lsd that is will just give a bit when need be

I believe the front diffs in iX's were viscous lsd so they locked up the hotter they got which is why the wheels have to slip more until it locks up.

no, front diffs are open, no VC.

I don't think the VC really takes much slip to get it to lock at all. I can easily get the rear end to step out at full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear, and it doesn't take long at all for the VC in the center diff to lock up and send torque to the front wheels before I start to spin.

The rear is viscous on an iX. Not a good performance diff.
