    dual mass flywheel clutch?

    Hi all,
Going to do a 5 speed swap. Trans will have the dual mass flywheel. I prefer the smoothness as I don't track or drive hard so don't need the single mass. Won't ever turbo the car. Just a convertible cruiser.

I need a new clutch and pressure plate. Sachs FX heavy duty clutch and plate new on ebay is $125. Again, don't need anything fancy, just need it to work. So, don't want to spend a ton.

Will that work for dual mass? I can't seem to find anything that is specific for dual mass. When I look at PelicanParts I only see ones that aren't suitable for dual mass.

    Thanks for the help,
    Andrew

Buy your clutch from somewhere that knows the difference, because the pressure plates are different.
Your ePay seller doesn't know, or is listing the solid flywheel version. I can't tell.

Blunt pops to mind. www.blunttech.com, and calling him is very much OK.

When I did this 4ish years ago, tho, the Sachs kits were wrong-
the dual and single parts numbers in the parts chain were reversed.
Which is why I'd buy from Blunt- he'll know which is which.

Plus, it sounds like you need some ice cream... after all that island time.

^Toby beat me while I was putting the kids to sleep!

That listing is for a single mass setup.

Here are listings by people who know better (took me 5 minutes)....

or of course, shoot blunt a call. Either way, good luck on your project.
