    Gear slipping

My clutch gripping point is way further out that in should be (and than it was before.) If I try to accelerate at all, my gear slips. I need to be super gentle on the gas at all times. New to the forum so if i placed this post wrong or anything please be gentle.
    Thanks for the help

Internet guess #1. You need a new clutch.

Internet guess #2. You have a dual mass flywheel and it came apart. You need a new
    clutch and flywheel.

What vintage car, with what engine?

I had that happen once, turned out my oil pan was dripping oil on my clutch material, It was a PITA to change the oil pan gasket so hopefully it isn't that.
