1991 318is Smooth Shifting to Clunky after clutch change

Had the clutch assembly replaced recently and it was shifting buttery smooth for a few weeks and then went back to feeling clunky on the shifter. Clutch actually feels ok but the shifter is a pain in the ass again with the notchiness/clunkiness.

It's not smooth and seems to hang a bit on 1st and 2nd.

    Any idea what is up?

I'd look into the hydraulics. Sounds like the clutch may not be fully actuating when the pedal is depressed.

If you pump the clutch 2-3 times, does the clunkiness go away?

No, it didn't. Took it into my shop for suspension and had them take a look. They said it felt ok to them and recommended removing the clutch stop. Seems a bit better, but still not that silky smooth it was in 1st and 2nd when I first got it all changed out. Who knows?
