buying a used getrag 260 tips ?

im buying a getrag 260 with all the parts needed to do a manual swap, how do i check if the parts (most importantly the transmission) are healthy ?

side of the transmission says 260.0.1270.90 this should fit in my car, all getrag 260 are the same right ?

any advise is appreciated.

If you cant see it working its the Luck of the draw really. You can shift the gearstick through the gears and get an idea on weather the shifter mechanism works i guess.

I've bought 2 g260s gearboxes, one was stuffed, one was great. 50% hit rate so far.
