My trans' second gear is about to be shot in my 1986 ETA. Plus my shifter linkages suck, and its the early model shifter linkage. I want to upgrade to a later G260 trans, but I know the Eta electronics has those crank positions sensors built into the bell housing of an early G260.
It looks like my options are:
1: Find a G260 from an ETA, somehow rig late G260 shift linkages to it
2: Find a workaround with the crank positions sensors and use a late G260
Is this correct? What have people done previously? Thanks
EDIT: It looks like option 1 is my only option, after finding an ancient thread.
How do I rig up late G260 shift linkages to the early ETA transmission? From my understanding, the shifter "sheet" of the ETA, when removed, leaves exposed holes where transmission fluid would leak out. Can these be plugged up, and then late G260 linkages just bolt right on? Thanks
