    Trans input shaft question

Hey, I just got my tranny out and I noticed that the input shaft can wiggle a tiny, tiny bit. More side to side than up and down. I s the tranny fucked?

    Thanks.

I'd say something is worn, like a bearing. it might still be okay.. my 218,000 mile tranny definitely didn't do that though.

Thanks. This tranny has 187k on it and was very smooth when I removed it.

Pretty sure it's the input shaft bearing - requires tearing down the transmission. I wouldn't worry *too* much about it, unless you want to rebuild it...
