Can i swap my 4.10 lsd gearing to 2.93

Hey all, i have a 4.10 lsd from an e30 m3 and i want to keep the lsd but re-gear it. I have a 2.93 open differential and i want better highway speeds. I have already put the 2.93 ring gear on the lsd and swapped the pinion to the new casing but the reluctor ring is hitting the pinion. Does anyone have any experience doing this/is this possible.

    Is not possible.

Different carrier, puts the ring in a different position.

i swapped my medium case 3.73 lsd carrier into a medium case housing with 3.25 gears and everything worked fine. Are you sure you put the reluctor ring on the correct way? Or are these diffs not both medium case?

I saw on another post, there are two types of carriers that work with different gearing. A 4.10 carrier only works with 4.10, 3.23, and 3.15 gearing. All the other gear sets go on the other carrier. Thanks for verification.
