Transmission fluid leak between engine and tranny

I have a major leak coming from between the transmission and engine. I'm pretty positive it's transmission oil considering how the transmission was pretty much empty, and my engine oil level was healthy. I've heard it could be the rear main seal, could it be anything else?

Here is a photo of the leak:

If it was the rear main seal, it would be engine oil leaking out.

If you are certain it’s transmission fluid, then the transmission input shaft seal is most likely the culprit

Unless you're running atf in your trans, how did you determine it wasn't engine oil

I'm pretty sure it is transmission fluid because the trans leaked a little more than a quart, while my engine oil levels didn't change at all. I checked the transmission fluid levels yesterday and there was basically none in there. Is there any other way to check?

Any idea on the parts/labor for that? What is involved in this repair? I just need to know since I'm a newbie mechanic on a budget.

No idea on cost, but it’s a tranny out job.
