    Transmission drain plug doesn’t sit flush

    Should the transmission drain plug sit flush when tightened down? I put in a new Dimple magnetic plug, made sure it started threading right, but there are two rows of exposed threads after it’s tightened down. The previous plug seemed to do the same. Drove it around the block and it doesn’t look like it’s leaking, but still ...

    It's normal that it's sticking out a bit. The thread on the plugs are slightly conical.
    At long that it's tight and no oil it dripping out you're good!
