revshift diff bushing

Does anyone know whether the lip on the diff bushing is facing towards the front or facing the rear of the car when installed? I haven't found anything clarifying this or does it matter?

your help would be appreciated. thanks!

I just installed a poly diff bushing last night. All of the pictures I've ever seen show it being installed from the rear of the cover, meaning the lip would also be left hanging out towards the rear of the car.
