I had all the bolts back out on the driver side of my axle on my 3.73 non-LSD while driving at 40 mph. At first it sounded like I ran over a cinder block in the road with banging and grinding. when I looked under the car, the axle was resting on top of my exhaust. When I tried to get a better look, I discovered that the Diff cover was broken and separated from the the mount bushing which was still bolted to the bottom of the car. My question is can I just replace the cover and and axle bolts to keep going, or are the guts of my Diff completely destroyed and I need a whole new Diff? Also, did I tweek and bend the rear subframe? Has anybody experienced this? Mr. Levie, what's your Diagnosis?
Busted Diff, what have I done???

nope..
My phone's resolution and a lack of lighting make it impossible to really see the damage, plus I don't really have the ability to post pics at this time. Sorry.Comment

I had a half shaft come undone on the highway but caught it with a couple of bolts still hanging on. It threw a fair amount of grease out but otherwise didnt do any damage. I installed my spare bolts only this time usual blue loctite (which is the moral of this story)Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. I lucked out...
I went by the pic-n-pull Saturday morning and for the first time in a couple of years there was an E30. It was an '86 eta sedan with an auto box. So, it had a 4.10 in it. I grabbed the rear cover off of it for $20. Now to drill out the broken bolts from the axle:DComment
