    Help removing driveshaft

Any tips on how to remove the driveshaft? I have an eta and I’m trying to maneuver it around the exhaust. I heard things like loosening the nut in the middle helps and loosening transmission mounts but I’m not sure. Please help

    Step 1. Remove full exhaust
Step 2. Remove exhaust heat shield
Step 3. Loosen the center locking nut with big channel locks on the driveshaft all the way. its right behind the center support bearing.
Step 4. Remove all the guibo bolts and diff bolts.
Step 5. Remove center support bearing, collapse driveshaft and remove driveshaft.

Note: if the driveshaft doesn't want to collapse, you might find it easy to remove the tranny brace to drop the rear of the tranny. Also use plenty of penetrant around the locking nut to help collapse the driveshaft.

I wouldn't collapse the driveshaft if you can avoid it. Ssaves having to reset it again (ive never had to do loosen the slip joint). I undo the gearbox mount as well and let the gbox drop down too. Gives a bit more room.

If you undo the csb and the giubo it should just drop down with the csb acting as a hinge. You have to drop the exhaust.
