    What size quibo help?

I'm sitting at my desk at work wondering what size guibo will replace the one on my car. The one on there now is the type with the round steel bowl with the rubber on the inside. Which size guibo will bolt in place of that one?

    Anyone?

I was unaware that there were different sizes. The "round steel bowl" is your vibration dampener and not part of the flex disc.

Correct, but there are still two sizes of flex-discs. I'll measure tonight and find out which one I have.

I was hoping someone would know so that I could place the order a little sooner..

          bump.

Anyone know how to tell my production dates? my car is an 3/87 325is. I'd like to order soon.

If i can't tell, can i tell by visual inspection? Apparently there is a 10mm and a 12mm bolt version..

          Thanks

Try going to http://www.realoem.com and plug in the last seven of your VIN. Then look at DRIVE SHAFT->DRIVE SHAFT, SINGLE COMPONENTS. That should yield the part number.

You want the smaller one. The bigger one was used on late 325e's, and some 5 series cars, as well as some others.

I THINK you want the 10mm bolt size, if that is indeed the smaller overall diameter disk. And I THINK all output flanges with built in vibration dampeners used the smaller disk.

I just parted out a 5/87 325is and it had the smaller one.

^that agrees w/ other guesses i've heard. The smaller diameter disc does indeed have the smaller 10mm bolts. I think its looking like a good bet.

                Thanks

Oh and i punched my VIN in realoem and it said no parts found when I selected the diagram that shows the guibo.. weird. it shows part numbers for the alternate diagram that shows the vibration damper, but that doesnt show a guibo.

Shown are two different driveshaft assemblies. The one that doesn't show a parts list is not the one that should be on the car. The one that shows the parts list is what should be there. Since folks have been known to mix-n-match parts on these cars over the years I'd suggest that you get under the car and verify what's actually installed before you order any parts. That's especially important if you haven't owned the car since it was new and thus don't know the full history.
