What do I need to swap a auto to a 5 spd on an e30. Never done it before and i don't want to screw it up. Thanks

transmission, clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate, flywheel
5 speed pedal box (these are different depending on if you have an airbag or not)
    clutch master/slave cylinders & lines
    rear driveshaft
    shifter assembly

you'll probably want to do motor and transmission mounts while you're in there, and you may as well get alll new shifter bushings and a short shift kit too.

it's really not that complicated, other than getting the trannies in and out. you'll also need to modify your wiring harness to get it to start and for the reverse lights.

Sorry--I was referring to the reference/speed sensor in the auto trans. I just started researching what I need to do a 5 spd swap in my wife's '88 Seta which will also be getting an M20b25 and my brain is overloaded about now. Is the reference sensor not needed with the manual trans?
