    4.10 in the eta!

Well, after some times I finally got the 2.93 out, and the 4.10 in!! Im soo happy witht he new stup, on the streets anyway. Im not looking forward to the highway, but it has to happen some time. Does anyone know of any other owners of etas with 4.10s? I just want to know of anything to watch out for, since the redline is pretty low.

i put 3.73's in my eta. at 65 it's around 3000rpm. They helped mine out alot when i'm pulling a mountain or steep hill. The redline come's on a little faster cause of the deeper gears.

At some point I've got a 4.10lsd to drop in my eta sport, I just need to feel like putting it in.

I'd say the main thing you will have to look out for is the redline/limiter.

Can you note the actual road speeds at redline for each gear and get back to us? I'm considering dropping a 3.73 in mine but I also have a 4.10 so who knows. I would think dropping in a 4.10 in place of a 2.93 would basically put 2nd gear where 1st was, 3rd where 2nd was, etc.. so it's basically like driving a 4 speed with a crawler gear if needed. This could be verified if someone could record road speeds at max rpm in each gear....

              Use this: http://www.f-body.org/gears/
              24in tire diameter
              gear ratios (1-5): 3.83 / 2.20 / 1.40 / 1.00 / 0.81

edit: it looks like a 3.25 is still better for autox use. I just made shift point/speed maps and 90% of ~50 sec autox tracks would require so many shifts it would be a huge waste for a slight acceleration increase.

That sure must be fun on the street though!

I always wondered what it would be like to put that diff in the eta. How is the acceleration now?

^VERY nice!! I cant drive it on some serious roads, or roads that are busy b/c I switched insurance from the eta to my Jeep for winter. I just tested it out on my road, which is fairly rural. Its a great improvement.

I just dropped my 4.10lsd in my ES, and absolutely love it! I took it up on the highway, and 75 is ~3500rpm. Do not downshift to 4th up here, 4th at 75 is 4500rpm, so that's a useless shift, plus it pulls pretty good in 5th anyway.

                          How would a 4.10lsd perform in a 325is?
