I just replaced the clutch, but 1st and 2nd still stick a bit. It isn't as bad as it was with the old parts, but it's still quite annoying. I replaced the trans fluid as well with redline.. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't use enough moly grease on the input shaft. Any other culprits?
How do I fix sticky gears

The shifter doesn't slide out of gear, and there's a slight drivetrain crunch/clunk when I pull it out. As if the clutch i still engaged. So, here's what I do.. i put the clutch pedal down, pause very shortly, and then I shift. The car has 88k miles on it, I just replaced all shifter linkage parts last week, and it feels completely solid. I was just googleing the subject, and found a reference to redline causing this problem (i really can't see how that would happen)..
I was suspecting that the clutch disk is sticking to the input shaft, and, thus, it binds to the flywheel for a short time even after pressure was released..Comment

I highlighted that because because of that symptom, I believe it has to do with your clutch hydraulics. Master or slave, check your brake fluid for any abnormal level changes, etc. etc.The shifter doesn't slide out of gear, and there's a slight drivetrain crunch/clunk when I pull it out. I hear the redline heavyweight shockproof tranny fluid is a cure-all. Is this what you used?Comment

It also doesn't seem to engage very smoothly.. it just sorta grabs and jerks the car forward.. that would be more of an indication of a hydraulic problem, wouldn't it?
Any reason what-so-ever to believe I didn't do something right when I put the clutch on?Comment
