If all you did is put in the 7K tach without swapping out the coding plug, then the tach is reading inaccurately, hence your problem.

If you did swap the coding plug and it IS reading accurately, a performance chip would raise the rev limiter. But it sounds like you didn't swap in the coding plug given the fact you can only do 15mph at an indicated redline.

No... I didn't swap it I just went out and swapped it now and it turns out i have the coding chip. thanks for all the help everyone.

i had a 87 325 and the gearing was
1st:0-30
2nd:30-60
3rd:60-90
those stats are from when i hit rev limiter and i didnt go to 4 or 5! i dont like to drive over 100 just like the power in the low gears....
