Help me make the best choice.E30 LSD Related...

    Well,my M10 E30 has a 3.91 open differential right now
and I really wanna find an LSD of the same ratio...
When I bought my car it had a 3.64 open diff on it,
but for the last year I make do with the above mentioned 3.91.
Consumption is a bit high, cos its an original 4 speed manual,
but acceleration and max speed are lower. The car maxes at 190km/h.
Thats the same as 115mph for you all on this forum! ;)
Finally I tracked down a 4.10 LSD and I dont really know what to do...
Please take a minute to vote and let me know of your opinion.
What would you do If you were me?!? :weak:
    N.

PS.I know most of you wuld choose the last, but keep in mind that I dont
have the cash to do both at once. So,the tranny would have to wait for
a year or so.Which means high consumption and a top speed of 100mph max!
    10
    Keep it as it is.Open Diff 3.91 and 4speed manual.Top speed 115mph.

Change to a 3.91 LSD and make do with the same tranny.Same top speed.

I would say wait until you can do the 5spd and 4.10lsd, or maybe even a 3.73lsd if you want better fuel economy.

I would do the 5-speed first, then LSD. I dont really know what gears are best for the M10, but LSD is definitely good to have.

I have a 3.25, I get great economy, but I never see the end of my 5th gear... We're at 255 kph now and counting ;)

I'm installing a 3.73 within a week. Whilst I'll be spending a bit more fuel, every gear will be much punchier. And maybe then my buddy's Megane RS will lose... :(

Save up for that 5 speed, and the diff. It's far more worth it, and you'll be much more satisfied. If you get the second option, you'll always be thinking about the last anyways... Trust me, I've compromised before and regretted it.

5speed first, LSD later would be my choice.

But since LSDs around here (Greece) are rare i would buy the 4.10 LSD the time i found it and then drop in a 5speed.

What are your goals/plans for the car? If you can't afford a 5 speed swap for another year, I'd say your in no position to swap a 4.10 and rev the life out of the motor. What are you planning to do with it?

I dont think you're going to be putting enough power to the ground for LSDs to even matter. You'd probably get more out of a tranny.
