Yes, DOT 3 and 4 fluids will work in pretty much anything that doesn't require DOT 5 (silicone based). I wouldn't use DOT 5 in any older car though as it can eat your hoses.

there is a DOT 5.1 that isn't silicone based and supercedes all DOT 3&4 fluids, Wagner makes it.
I used to use Castrol GTLMA brake fluid but I can't find it any more.
they just have different boiling temps.....DOT 4 boils @ 311cel. and DOT 3 @ 285 cel. I believe...just don't try to ride the brakes down the side of a mountain for 20 miles like my sister did.....
