    Evo M3 6speed for M42

    Hey Guys

Do you know where I can get some more information regarding the strength of the S50B32 6 speed gearbox on the Euro M3 Evo?

I have just picked up one for use on my M42 (approx 300hp), but am not sure about how well it handles torque, have heard stories..

    Anyone got facts n figures?

I am currrently using a G260 that's been modded to fit..would prefer to use the 6speed to keep the diff ratio....it's killed an iS G240 when my friend owned it and shifted rough, but I believe it would be ok driven correctly.

Also have a ZF 5spd, but would need to change the diff.

I won't be upgrading for a while, so basically want opinions as to weather I should keep it and stick with the 260 or free up some cash

    Cheers
    Gus

Hemingway said it best. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

did you guys get E46 330i's over there with 6 speeds? seems like it might be easier to find one of those than an E36 M3.

I say use whichever transmission, but use a stock clutch so that it can be the weak point in your drivetrain and slip if you get to crazy with things. It will probably need replacement more frequently but if you plan on doing track days you should be driving pretty smoothly anyways. BUT If you are into the whole drift or drag racing thing, then I can understand your desire for a tough clutch and tough transmission.
