    Helicoiling

Has anyone helicoiled their rear drive flanges? I ran into a situation where some dumb punk kid drilled out his drive flanges and used regular case hardened bolts to attach tuner lugs to. Nonetheless, the drive flanges are ruined and decently reemed out. The turn around time to purchase and receive me drive flanges is a week (which I really dont have). Ive been contemplating just helicoiling them for M12x1.25 again. My question is: Is the depth of the flange thick enough to helicoil? This really isnt what I WANT to do, but at this point in time it may have to serve its purpose. I dont have a fear of the strength after helicoiling them. My biggest concern is if the flange is thick enough.

If anyone can shed some light. Id greatly appreciate it.

Are you talking about hubs that rotors/wheels mount to? Yes, it's thick enough. I have never done this though. Don't see how this could be a problem. Helicoil set is more expensive than picking up 2 used hubs though. I got 2 sitting around, if you want, you can have them for the price of shipping, and you'll need to get new bearings.

Really? Thats kind of shocking I didnt think a helicoil set would be that expensive. Thanks for the offer. Ill send you a PM and take those off of your hands. Yes, its a hub. I dont know why they call it a drive flange. Im assuming the only reason why is because they call the front assembly a hub assembly w/ a spline and built in bearing. I don't get the bavarian terminology sometimes.

Its funny the dealer quoted me 105 a side today new. Yesterday, they told me 86.xx.....
